Hometown:
Glen Ellyn, Illinois (that's in the Chicago area)
E-mail: k.scott@tcu.edu
Alma mater: TCU, for a bachelor's and a master's!
Year I joined the Office of Admission: 1985
Areas I recruit: I work with all prospective students - freshmen and transfers - living outside the United States. I also work with international students who are currently living in the U.S.
TCU is a great university because:
…of our sense of community and mutual respect for one another. That includes faculty, staff and students. The University is truly focused on becoming more diverse, and that's emphasized in our mission statement. The Leadership program is outstanding, and we encourage students to step out of their comfort zones. Finally, I'm amazed by the incredible amount of building and renovation that's taken place recently, along with upgrades in classroom technology throughout the campus.
Hobbies: Bicycling, studying Spanish, walking my dogs and cooking.
In my office you'd see: Souveneirs that I've collected from around the world, and a globe sitting right on my desk so that I can always see where our students are from.
My advice to you: Don't be afraid to admit you're a little nervous about choosing a college. It's one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. We will do our best to provide you with all the information you need so you can make an informed choice. |
