Experience > Living on Campus
Your space, your place
You're about to embark on a new adventure
- living on campus. And you're going to love
it! Here you'll meet lots of new, interesting
people and make friends you'll still be in
touch with when you're 60.
Campus living has lots of advantages. You're
only minutes from class. With a swipe of your
ID card you can grab a bite at nine unique
eateries. You have technology at your fingertips.
And, you're right in the middle of everything
fun that's going on.
There are 19 residence halls on campus, and
each has its own personality. So whether you're
studious, athletic, or the paint-your-face-and-get-crazy-at-a-game
sort, you'll feel right at home.

Reserving your place
With your TCU admission packet, you'll receive
information on reserving your place in the
residence halls and in the incoming class.
Follow the instructions on the Reserving Your
Place at TCU sheet included in the admission
packet to pay your $250 Advance Housing Payment,
or contact Residential
Services to request a waiver of the Advance
Housing Payment.
In the late spring you will receive an e-mail
from us about on logging on to
my.tcu.edu to
let us know about your personal habits and
preferences about your hall and prospective
roommate. The link will open in late spring
and will stay up until Friday, June 13 for
you to edit your preferences. You may make
changes to your preference and roommate choice
online until June 13.
Residential Services is introducing Freshmen
Interest Group (FIG) housing for 2008-09 and you
are encouraged to read about it when you log on
to tell us your preferences. Space is limited
in these FIGs and assignments will based on
priority date. Please note that the residence hall and
roommate preference selections are not guaranteed
as assignments are made as space is available
and in priority date order. (Priority date
is determined by when we receive your $250
Advanced Housing Deposit, which is due by May
1). You will also be able to choose a dining
plan through my.tcu.edu.
The roommate assignment process begins about
June 16. You will be
able to log on to
my.tcu.edu
to see your housing assignment as soon as
possible thereafter, allowing plenty of time to contact
your roommate and discuss living together at
TCU.
We encourage you to come to Orientation in June
and visit the halls to see a sample room, and to
begin to think about how you may want to
personalize your room!
