Students transferring from a college or university
in another country will be awarded credit on
a course-by-course basis. The institution attended
must be accredited in the home country, and
courses must be academic, not vocational, to
be considered for credit. We recommend that
students take general core classes (click here for
explanation of core or “UCR”) instead of taking
classes in their major. General core classes
transfer most easily, since professors require
students to take most classes in their major
while in residence at TCU. Because classes
taken in other countries may be very different
from those in the U.S., it may take longer
than anticipated to complete a degree here.
This is true of any university in the U.S.
to which you might transfer. Please submit
detailed course descriptions in English.
Students transferring from U.S. colleges
or universities will find it very convenient
to transfer credits to TCU. We will accept
coursework from all accredited two-year or
four-year colleges in the U.S. As with those
transferring from outside the U.S., we recommend
that you concentrate on taking general core
classes while at other colleges.
In order to receive a bachelor’s degree,
students must take at least 58 credit hours
(about two years full-time) at TCU. A detailed
transfer credit evaluation will be sent to
each student after admission.
