Fashion Merchandising
Fashion merchandisers handle everything related to the development, buying and selling of merchandise. As a fashion merchandising student, you’ll develop skills of product development, buying, apparel production, fibers and fabrics, computer-aided design, and quality assessment and control.
  • Live and breathe retail in a full-time, 10-week internship with some of the top fashion organizations in the country. Students intern with companies like Neiman Marcus, JCPenney, Pier I Imports, Zale Corporation, Nordstrom, Donna Karan and Kenneth Cole.
  • Work through the unique TCU costume collection of more than 2,000 items to experience the economic, social and technological process of this country.
  • Live and learn in a major metropolitan market center that allows faculty and students to stay on top of the dynamic fashion industry’s trends and requirements.
  • Get hands-on experience in classes that provide laboratory and studio application of industry procedures.

Many Fashion Merchandising grads begin careers with the organization for which they interned. Graduates are now working with retail or wholesale companies, fashion design firms, manufacturers, museums, or non-profit organizations.
