Astronomy
As an astronomy student, you’ll explore the origin, evolution, makeup and motion of the matter that makes up the universe as you prepare for a career in aerospace or further graduate study.
  • Go on star search with groups of astronomy and physics students to the McDonald Observatory in the Davis Mountains and to other observatories across the nation.
  • Get a firm grounding in the sciences through courses in physics, mathematics, chemistry, geology, astronomy and astrophysics.
  • Jump into research by working with faculty and graduate students on topics like galaxy evolution, infrared astronomy, ultraviolet astronomy and stellar populations.
