Physical Education
As a Physical Education major, you’ll learn the science and theory behind teaching and coaching in the K-12 schools, so you can teach today’s students the joy of being active, and the importance of developing physical activity skills that will last a lifetime.
  • Learn to keep young people active as you develop your teaching style through experiences in local public schools and TCU laboratory schools.
  • Learn the fundamentals of human movement, then reinforce that knowledge in the field by observing physical education classes in local schools and completing a semester or student teaching.
  • Earn a teaching certification that will allow you to teach grades K-12.

Physical Education graduates are prepared to begin teaching or coaching after they graduate with certification, and several continue graduate study in pedagogy, sport psychology, sport administration, or educational administration.
