Movement Science
The study of movement science provides a comprehensive understanding of human movement – applied, health-related, clinical and theoretical aspects of how the body functions – so you can enter a variety of settings where you’ll help keep people on the move.
  • Gain a body of knowledge about human movement and prepare for graduate study leading to careers in allied health or movement science.
  • Study and research all areas of kinesiology: adapted physical activity, motor behavior, exercise physiology, sport psychology, and biomechanics.
  • Stretch your experience with internships in physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation and fitness.
  • Get hands-on experience and conduct research side-by-side with faculty in one of the five departmental laboratories.

Recent movement science graduates are pursuing graduate study in exercise science and physical or occupational therapy, and studying to be physicians or physician assistant. Others are working as exercise specialists, fitness directors, strength and conditioning coaches and personal trainers.
