Theatre
Theatre at TCU offers growth and training in a supportive atmosphere, and the faculty is a diverse and talented group that is highly respected for expertise as professional theatre artists as well as accomplished and dedicated teachers. As a theatre student, you'll analyze and appreciate the arts and creative activity by understanding the theories and techniques of acting and production, and by producing and acting in a wide variety of theatre productions
  • Experience theatre by participating in four main stage and two studio productions each year. Learn and perform in a complex that included the newly refurbished Buschman Theatre, in a 175-seat proscenium theatre; the innovative Hays Theatre, a 220- seat thrust theatre; the intimate 75-seat Studio Theatre; and Ed Landreth Hall, a 1,200-seat auditorium.
  • Broaden your knowledge by having the unique opportunity to work as an actor, director, designer and /or technician during your years of study
  • Explore the connections that TCU has with the professional theatre market in Dallas-Fort Worth by working as an intern or by participating in joint productions between TCU and professional theatres like Casa Manana, Circle Theatre, or Stage West
  • Intern with theatre companies around the world. Recent students have interned with a State Theatre in Russia, on a Pacific cruise ship, and with Fort Worth’s Casa Mañana musical theatre.
