Art History
You'll learn how to analyze, research and think critically about art through class discussions and course work.
  • You will have the opportunity to explore the artists, art, and movements of Western and non-Western art history at five internationally renown art museums in Fort Worth/Dallas area: the Kimbell Art Museum, Amon Carter Art Museum, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, The Modern Art Museum of Dallas and the Nash Sculpture Center.
  • You may also choose to study abroad for a summer or semester at the TCU London Centre, in Italy, Germany or throughout Europe with TCU faculty exploring world-famous museums such as the National Gallery of Art in London.
  • The art history faculty follow the scholar/teacher model, teaching in small classes, providing individual attention and encouragement toward scholarship and professional internships in North Texas' art-rich museum community.

Graduates work in a variety of art-related areas, including museums, galleries and auction houses. Many go on to graduate school to teach art history at the university level.
