As a middle school education or secondary education major, you’ll focus on appropriate teaching styles for middle school (grades 4-8) or secondary school (grades 8-12), and you’ll work with students in a number of classroom and informal learning environments
- Go to the head of the class
and get recruited to teach after graduating as a middle school education or secondary education major. Ninety-eight percent of education majors find work within one semester after graduation.
- Get experience in local urban schools or student teach in Canada, Denmark, England, Holland, Mexico, Norway and Sweden.
- Learn in the field at places like the Forth Worth Museum of Science and History, the Fort Worth Zoo, River Legacy Living Science Center and the Amon Carter Museum.
- Become competent to teach a variety of students, including students with special needs and second language learners.
