Every organization’s goal is to market and sell its products or services profitably while creating valuable relationships with customers. At Neeley, we let you in on the entire world of marketing, from planning to sales, and most importantly how to have success in this area of business. If you are innovative, creative and resourceful, and enjoy creative problem solving, a marketing degree may be for you!

The marketing major gives students a choice of four marketing career tracks. These four career tracks prepare students for many exciting career opportunities in marketing:
  • Product and Brand Management
    Planning, directing and controlling business and marketing efforts for products is the responsibility of the product or brand manager. Careers in product and brand management tend to attract highly motivated individuals who can accept broad responsibilities, need little supervision, communicate well with others and thrive on constant change. Some of the positions available include:
    • Brand Manager
    • Market Analyst
    • Product Manager
  • Sales and Sales Management
    Those in sales or sales management are responsible for communicating with customers by informing and persuading them to purchase products. The type of positions vary widely with respect to the types of business and products involved, the educational background and skills required, and the activities to be performed. Available positions include:
    • Pharmaceutical Sales Representative
    • Sales Manager
    • Sales Promotion Manager
  • Marketing Communications Management
    Creating, implementing and overseeing communications programs that effectively describe and promote an organization and its products is the responsibility of a marketing communications manager. Common characteristics are strong communication skills, the ability to articulate well in both written and spoken formats, understanding a variety of people, being team leaders and quick learners. Positions include:
    • Advertising Account Executive
    • Public Relations Manager
    • Corporate Communications Manager
  • Global Marketing Management
    Global or international marketing involves developing and performing marketing activities across national boundaries. A career in global marketing management encompass all aspects of marketing in a variety of industries. Those interested in global or international marketing must be familiar with foreign languages and culture, be willing to travel or relocate, and have proven themselves in domestic operations. A popular course in this career track is Marketing Study Abroad.
