Modern Languages & Literatures
Studying another language gives you an advantage in the job hunt, sharpens your verbal and reasoning skills, and also improves your English abilities. Speak the languages of success in the global economy. To help you communicate effectively with people of other countries and cultures, TCU offers courses in the following five languages:
  • Italian Minor To earn a minor in Italian, students take courses in advanced grammar and composition, Italian culture and cinema, and have the opportunity to study abroad in Italy in the summer.
  • French Major or Minor In addition to traditional course work in French language and literature in small classes of about 15-20 students, TCU offers a wide range of study abroad programs for a semester or a year in Paris, Nantes, Dijon or Lyon. A unique summer program takes students to Angers, the capital of the Anjou province in the heart of the Loire Valley.
  • German Major or Minor On campus, students choose from German language, literature and culture. • Japanese Minor Courses in Japanese language and culture are complimented by summer study of language and culture in Nagaoka. Semester and year-long programs are also available through a partnership with Kansai Gaidai University.
